Stillwater Walk MS 2011 Is Here

While it is a little cool this morning, it is suppose to be clear and sunny.
I myself am ready to make that hour drive to Stillwater, home of the Cowboys. I’ve never been to Stillwater in the 30 years I’ve lived here in Oklahoma.
During the walk I will do like I normally do, upload photos live to our Flickr account, Flickr.com/WipeOutMS.

“The challenge: 50 marathons in 50 states before turning 50. That gave Patrick Finney less than four years to complete what seemed an unthinkable task.
Intrigued, the former Omahan researched a host of marathon courses across the U.S., their elevation levels, and coordinated the dates. He created an Excel spreadsheet to organize the undertaking. And then he did it. In less than two years.
“Once I made up my mind to go for it, I did, no hesitation,” he said.
What makes the feat more impressive is that Finney, 48, has multiple sclerosis, a debilitating disease that short-circuits communication between the brain and the body.
“It’s pretty unbelieveable,” said Dr. Pam Santamaria, a neurologist at the Nebraska Medical Center. “It should send a message of encouragement to other patients with MS.”

In July I was sad to here the host of WipeOutMS.com was closing down. I knew that also there would be a lot of work. Since getting that email the record heat continued for another 2 months that I worked in on a daily basis. There is nothing like dealing with the heat of the day and then trying to put a website together.
Soon I will be changing the DNS for WipeOutMS.com, this will mean for a few days it won’t be available. When this takes place I will be linking to the new website in which the hosting package will be shared with a new domain WipeOutMS.org.
Yes, WipeOutMS.org is up and running. No, it by no means is done. Some things that will be added include:
Information on what WipeOutMS.tel is about, including online forms for groups and businesses to get listed on this MS Yellowpages.

Oklahoma Bike MS Finish Line 2011

Today is the finish of Oklahoma Bike MS at the state capitol south parking lot in OKC. Make plans to spend some time from 11 am to mid afternoon cheering on the riders as they cross the finish line.

In the news Lynn Brickman is biking the Mother Road, Route 66 for Oklahoma’s Bike MS. I’ll be at the State Capitol for the finish line tomorrow.
